Maybe not in the immediate future, but of course it could. Technology is always getting smaller and more efficient. If a calculator was once the size of a warehouse, it's reasonable to believe that a PS3 could someday be built as small as a PS2 Slim. (It's unlikely that they would want to by that point, but the point is that they could.)
