Actually, Battlestar Galactica's main story was written by seasoned sci-fi writer Ronald D. Moore.

I haven't even heard of Michael Angeli before this post. According to IMDB he only co-wrote some episodic content for 7 episodes and the bulk of stuff he has worked on is not Sci-fi.

Michael Angeli (born 1970/1971) is an American writer and television producer, best known for his award-nominated work on television series such as Monk and the remake of Battlestar Galactica, a show for which he was also a co-executive producer.

Angeli is currently a writer and co-executive producer for Black Sails, a pirate drama set to air on the Starz Network in January, 2014.Angeli is a University of Wisconsin graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology. As a screenwriter, his television credits include Now and AgainDark AngelCover MeMediumMonkTouching Evil (U.S. version), In Plain SightLaw & Order: SVUKilling Mr. GriffinPlaymakers (ESPN's first drama), Law & Order: Criminal IntentBattlestar Galactica and its spin-off/prequel, Caprica
