The thing about X360 pre-orders was/is that there weren't a lot of them available. A lot of stores did the whole 8am launch. I know, I was there (I got 2 of them by waiting in line 14 hours).
I am sure the numbers will look good, but I think comparing to a 8-year ago launch really isn't going to be a fantastic barometer of sales... Especially when the pre-order culture has changed so much.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
