My one issue with the "exclusives" argument

No point for argument (with that thinking), then, since said rules prohibit any kind of realistic discussion. 

Well that is uncalled for. Again tunnel vision is inherent with any rivalry, in any medium. Given that, its not only realistic, but has been practised for a very long time, whether you think its logical in the first place.
