According to VGChartz, Mario Kart Double Dash sold about 7 million.By contrast, Mario Kart Wii has sold, so far, 34 million units, almost 5 times more!..so, the franchise has grown quite a lot compared to the GC days.
Truth be told, I have no idea of the individual power Mario Kart had in selling GameCubes back in the day, but given the power of the franchise nowadays, I wonder if a MK8/Wii U bundle would be quite a powerful combination on its own.
