Another interesting excerpt from the HuffPo story: "Alexander was also charged with domestic battery four months after the shooting in another assault on Gray. She pleaded no contest and was sentenced to time served."
She was charged with assaulting him in a separate incident, and plead no contest. There's more to this story than what meets the eye. The local news station was just going for clicks by posting a sensationalized half-truth, congrats for falling for it. I agree with the aspect that the sentence is too harsh, and that minimum sentence laws are problematic, but really, c'mon.
