She was charged with assaulting him in a separate incident, and plead no contest. There's more to this story than what meets the eye. The local news station was just going for clicks by posting a sensationalized half-truth, congrats for falling for it. I agree with the aspect that the sentence is too harsh, and that minimum sentence laws are problematic, but really, c'mon.
