And then we come full circle to the fact that nobody here has an answer for you. I'm sure it is something built into the software that can be changed if it turns out to be a dealbreaker. I'm guessing the reason they want the Kinect plugged in is because it is an integral part of the full Xbox One experience using the interface, etc.
