Since i recently purchased a PS3... I thought, heck... I'm gonna go out and borrow a Blu-Ray movie. Wasn't expecting really much of it, because i already thought DVD looked really good. People saying it was up to 5x sharper then DVD. I didn't think you'd notice the difference, same like i didn't notice the difference between Composite and Component on my Wii. People were exagerating on that so i didn't expect much.

But well, back to the point. Someone told me that the best way to watch a new video-format was to use a computer-made movie. Something like Surf's up or Bee Movie or Cars. Something you normally wouldn't watch if there are other things to choose if you know what i mean. But i decided to go with Cars, my first entry in the Blu-Ray format.

So i start the film, and i was like WHAAAAAAT! Wayooo! (i'm a little exagerating here, but this is just to get the message over)... I really have to admit! This looks WAY better than DVD. Although i already thought that looked great! HD-movies definitely are a step forward! The detail is just magnificent. I'm really diggin' it! And i'm already looking forward to a new Blu-Ray movie! C'mon New Line Cinema, make an super-extended LoTR trilogybox for Blu-Ray! That would be my first real Blu-Ray purchase! (I rented Cars)!

Too bad i still don't have Dolby 7.1 surround. That would've been even better, uncompressed sound Ftw! ...

You should get Planet Earth on Blu Ray
