As Jeb Bush and his family are republicans and most gun advocates are rightwing/republicans they turned into some kind of lemming mode and kept quiet because of loyalty.
The same tricks are used by the democrats.The leftist would already have crucified Bush for Drone killing giving money to the banks etc,but as Obama is" one of them" they don't dare to say a word.
I think the main reasons for such stupd laws and judgements are the private run prisons for profit.I don't know the proper english word but those prisons need a "prison fill rate" of 90%+ to be profitable.The more ,the better and to keep the prisoner supply high they need very restrictive laws.The more restrictive laws the more prisoners.
