I believe the key here is still you are giving MS 400 bones for a device.  If you are a developer this is great because you get the alpha and a retail unit when it ships.  MS gets input on the alpha and the ability to refine the retail unit and provide either hardware or software change that makes it a more viable device when it hits the market.

I don't expect the retail Kinect One to cost more than $300 for the end-user... $250 is my bet.

The costs for MS will continue to be below $150.
