What sold the 360 in the US wasn't so much price or features- it was the year head start in a new generation.. Games felt so new and the jump from the previous generation was a sharp one unlike the wiiU. Then once people saw the new generation, there was no competition for an entire year, that flow of friends wanting to play online together is what sealed the US market for Microsoft this generation.
None of that matters now though, Sony has worked itself back and seems to have turned the tables on Microsoft. This will be the counter punch by Sony.

To those claiming the Xbone has sold out more online, you seem to only be seeing what you want to see.. The PS4 has..what- 5, 6, or 7 different bundles to choose from? These were all organized by retailers too, because of the price disparity between the two consoles. 1 single available item online will sell out faster than the several different allotments of PS4's which have been organized.
I admit it isn't 100% clear, but every forum on the web and every conversation I've heard says PS4 is comfortably ahead as the OP suggests.

Come on!, if you we're betting, given the facts we know, you would all surely assume the PS4 has more preorders in all territories, right?
