I apologize. Floaty is just not something you want in a platformer. You want quick and responsive with tight controls. Speed in platformers are important for challenges as well as the level designs. The level design in all the above series are top notch, quick responsive platforming, with great charm. That is in my opinion the 3 things you look for in a platformer.
A few other games as mentioned before fit these standards but they also arent as iconic either. I will say that Sacboy and LBP is iconic though.
Watch the level below and see why you need tight quick controls. Precision is key. When it is floaty and slow, it loses that precision.
