It is funny how the Obesity term is used, mainly because I have probably only met 3 Obese people in my life in USA. Must be massive differences in Obesity between the states.

Good for you, really only 3?

I see obese people most everywhere.  Morbidly obese, not as often, but they seem to be the ones we call fat in the USA.  Still there are plenty of them.

I was watching and old British show recently and the wife was complaining how ‘disgustingly fat’ her husband was. By today’s  USA standards, he would only be considered plump.

You are considered obese if your body fat is over 25% as a male and 32% as a female.  I think in the USA we are so use to it, we don't really see it.

Here is a handy chart:

I have seen a lot of them. But I would say I only met 3 up close. The definition just really bothers me when I could be 6 foot 1 inch 120 lb and have close to 25% body fat and be considered obese when really that is skinny as F.
