not really since you have to take in account investment.... which could be better than net profit after investments....
also MS is appreciated because they pay out dividends....
financial investment is not only about profit... it's way more about business management, long term investment, assets and equity valuation, development, innovation etc.... if it was just about profit many companies would have a way lower market cap....
