...I guess it's technically a possibility...but something tells me if Satan had a plan to create a book to distract people from God, he'd probably wouldn't go so far out of his way to make himself look like the bad guy.

I think there are a few things worth pointing out about the initial post, however.

Nearly all historical scholars agree that Jesus existed. The huge divide obviously exists over whether he is really God or not, but it's an almost unanimously accepted view that Jesus, at the very least, existed as a human. So it's highly doubtful that Satan would have simply "invented" him.

There's also records of a person known as "the Christ" being the foundation of "Christianity," written by Tacticus, an ancient Roman historian. One could assume with a good bit of confidence that this person would be Jesus.

I believe there were some writings by Josephus, another Roman historian, which specifically mention Jesus and his name...but I'm a little rusty there so I'd have to go check to make sure.

At any rate...

Deism is simply the belief that God exists but simply lets the natural laws of the world run its course. It's not so much abandonment as it is a hands off approach.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that 144,000 people will actually serve Jesus, and that the rest of the believing crowd will spend eternity in some other paradise that isn't quite as connected. So everyone who believes is technically saved, it's just that the holiest people (or whatever classificiation is used to qualify for the 144,000) will be more intimate with God.
