anyone who cancels their preorder for that news would be cancelling it to get the other version.  aka Rockstar getting a full price sale regardless so I don't see why they wouldn't.

True but id imagine they would want the opening week sales of the 360/PS3 versions to be as impressive as possible. Or while you wait for the upgraded version you end up playing it from a friend and get your fix and thus cancel your preorder. Nah, just makes sense to be hush hush until at least 6 months after release.

I guess I could hurry up and sell my PS3 version if they announce it on the 18th or later.  It's coming out in a perfect window, will be huge on Christmas lists, and it's freaking GTA so I think sales will be fine either way.
