It isn't saying that because you (general you) have low self esteem you have a tendency to become a fanboy, but if your brand fails you it feels like a personal attack which can lower your self-esteem.

Oh, then in that case its totlaly true. I felt that from May - June 2013 (lol). I remember Sony fans from 2005-2007 feeling similar. Makes sense
