The main point it was making was that fanboys tend to equate a brand with how they see themselves and anyone who says different, feeling the opposite way of how they feel about the brand is committing a personal attack. Essentially it is low self esteem when it comes right down to it.

This 1000x. That's probably one of the most annoying things to face when discussing in this site.
