Is PS4 dominating One in internet polls a hint at hardcore gamers heavily favoring it?

You can answer everything multiple times. Who is to say the Xbox fans can't or wouldn't do it, too? It's always the Playstation fans that are the devious tricksters.

Uhm...yes, it did. What would be the point, otherwise?

The point would be to differentiate between that and polls that only allow a person to vote once on a particular device or from a particular IP address.
