I only had the original Xbox, so it's been a long time since they had me. They should start by getting more *real* exclusives, make the HDD replaceable. Focus more on games, sell a bundle without Kinect and when it's $200 I'll even consider buying one.

Why make the HDD replaceable?

You have unlimited storage via the Cloud.  So any movies or music you buy (or if you have Windows 8 upload to Xbox Music), and any games you purchase are available via the cloud (except disc-based games).    In addition, you can connect a USB-based HDD for additional storage so if you did need additional storage you could use any standard USB 3.0 external HDD.

What is the barrier?

LOL.

How about giving people options? Not everyone wants a huge HDD sitting next to their console, the Xbox One is already big enough. Isn't the console designed to blend in? I saw an external HDD would "stick out". PS4 allows people to replace the HDD with a simple laptop hard drive just like PS3. The real question is, why not make the HDD user-replaceable?

LOL. You are really buying into this cloud thing aren't you? If you buy something on a device, you can redownload it. No need for storing anything on any cloud. It wll still take the same amount of time to download it to your machine.

I'm going to take a guess and say system security.  By preventing people from upgrading the HDD, Microsoft is able to ensure system integrity.  If they do, with the Xbox One, it won't work.

How is an external HDD not an option?  You CAN buy 2.5" external HDDs, in black no less.  They would be imperceptable in an entertainment center.

No, I haven't paid a single thing.  It's free.  In fact, my music that I've uploaded in Windows 8 is available to me on any computer, Windows 8 Phone, Xbox 360, or Xbox One.  I bought into it long before it was something to be bought into on the console because of my experience with using.  Yes, I like it.

The cloud storage doesn't prevent me from downloading locally, it means I can delete what I don't need or if I want, I have an option to copy that content onto an external HDD.  I can then take that external HDD and connect it to another console.  So instead of lugging an entire console or library of games to my friends house in cases or on the HDD inside my console, I can slip a 2TB HDD filled with all my content into a coat pocket and take it to his house and connect it up to his Xbox One.

OMG!  Microsoft makes life so difficult for me, because I have to use an external HDD for added storage.  Damn, I can take my stuff with me where ever I go.  What am I going to do without lugging around all my discs or console?  Oh dear me.  Oh the humanity.
