What the industry needs is more artistic talent. Less self important jargon spewing smoke screens. Too many developers have mistaken themselves for theoretical physicists, or a modern day Socrates. All they accomplish is to confuse, befuddle, and distract the rational mind. A real gaming genius doesn't need to postulate theories they make a game for some platform, and suddenly everyone hails it as a work of art.

Raph Koster is so entrenched in his mindset of game democratization that its easy to see how he could heap praise on flash while turning a nose up at the high budget establishment. So much so that he is developing software so every Tom, Dick, and Harry can build their own game. Basically he wants to build a Universe, but he almost always neglects the plot.
