I've lost confidence in MS. I enjoyed the original Xbox. It was a great piece of hardware: HDD, online capable out of the box, and vastly stronger hardware over the competition of the time. Then, they stepped backwards with the XB360. HDD was not standard, wireless controllers were not standard, and wifi was only possible through a $99 proprietary accessory... instead of giving gamers value, MS stuck it to them. Sony followed suit with the PS3's original offerings as well. Sony seems to have learned a few things since then. Now it seems MS is continuing this downward trend with high price points, and generally not placing games and gamers as the top priority. I know people will disagree with me on this, but I really think Sony nailed it on the head with the PS4: good hardware at a fair price; rather than MS's decent hardware at a bad price. I really hope that MS can turn this thing around, but so far I'm not seeing it. MS's strategy is an entertainment system with lots of expenses for consumers around every corner. I will wait for the 4th generation of Xbox and PS5 before I consider going back to MS at this point.
