My real gripe with the game is that there is little reason to be afraid of death. The checkpoints are far too often which kinda reduces the tension and frantic nature of the game. I played with my brother taking turns so I felt pressured to do everything in my power to stay alive so I wouldn't have to pass the controller (we passed after 1 death) so for me personally, it helped.

Still, even if we died, we simply started a mere minutes away, only losing very little or often negligible progress. In this aspect, the game should be more unforgiving. Certain areas should punish death by sending you back 15 or 20 minutes but I can see how that could be frustrating, giving the fact that clickers can easy put you down for a little mistake.

I agree...If you die in the Last of Us I think your PS3 should turn into a robot ninja and kill you in real life. Now THAT'S unforgiving.
