ive said this many times before have you ever thought that the online check could have been so that microsoft could do their tier payment plan? no pay no play
as for the purpose of the disc quicker install period. some people may have weak internet at least this was the option for them. as for retailers look at how gamestop management and employees pretty much told people dont buy the xbox one.
i dont know i think ms went about it the wrong way and there is middle ground between the two .
