However, the late 2013 Androids and all going forward have greatly improved batteries due to LTE radios being improved and many times included all in one chip with other radios and so forth. Actually, browsing over LTE on the iPhone 5 almost doubles battery life:

Talk time over LTE does take a small hit, I suspect because of Apple's HD audio feature.

Very interesting, now I am always going to have LTE active on my 5. I wonder how it extends battery life though. hmm
