Resistance 2 goes "toe to toe" with Gears 2

And I think one of the biggest games for us will be Resistance 2. We expect that, in November, to go toe-to-toe against Gears of War 2. It will be our third-generation PS3 product. Insomniac, having shipped Resistance 1, quietly sold a million units. And then Ratchet & Clank last fall. This is the third [game] on their technology shipping in November.

 

 Given that he goes on to discuss sales of RFoM 1 and R&C I think it's pretty clear that he's talking going toe to toe sales wise.  Considering the relative successes of the originals and the installed bases I can't help but feel that GeoW 2 will far oustrip sales of RFoM 2.  

 Graphically I can't say since I haven't personally seen the Resistance 2 footage.
