I think TV will probably biggest the biggest selling point to completely new customers actually... they are branching out in a new territory.... people with kids in particular, or tech hipster that are not mainly gamers.... especially if there is a real homogenization of win8 ecosystem and it picks over the next decade.... because of that I think XB1 even if it has a worst launch than PS4, it might have longer legs especially when the price will be down under the 250-300 mark
people use their consoles more and more to watch video content otherwise PS3 wouldn't be the favored platform for Netflix..... TV's would be since most of them have a Netflix app by now and way more of those are sold than PS3.....
now I'm not saying MS will be the leading company in living room entertainment in the future.... but I'm convinced this is the future of media in the living room... an all in one box that will have casual group gaming a la Wii, hardcore gaming like a regular high end console, some app capabilities, and full media streaming capabilities radio, music, TV, Movies, webcontent.... in a decade or so everybody will have one box that will be more or less capable of all that hooked to their TV....
