I'm still at a loss on how society thinks their can be a bloodless revolution, it's a complete oxymoron.
You cannot take power from someone until they submit to your will and when dealing with countries and political beliefs your are never going to get them to submit to your will until you start killing each other and force your enemy to yield.
This whole concept that you can take people who are so far apart on their beliefs and put them into voting booths and have them walk away and say "well maybe next time" it is absurd.
