For some, sure. I mean, it was pretty sad here when in every single Tomb Raider thread you had the same people coming in comparing it and bashing it based on Uncharted. If Tomb Raider were PS exclusive there is no doubt they'd be singing an entirely different tune. But they thought it was an Uncharted clone and it clearly bothered them that Xbox/PC people could now experience a style of game they thought was theirs alone.

Titanfall is another good example. I would love to see the console exclusive brand switched and see the response. My guess is some people here would suddenly love the game and can't wait for it, and a handful of others here would suddenly think the game looked terrible and boring. Sometimes a MP game is hyped up by one fanbase as the "answer" to an exclusive game on another fanbase. Prototype for example. Has no business being hyped up and compared to Infamous but it was. Why? So the Xbox guys could say "hey well if I wanted to play Infamous I'll just play Prototype". But what if it were the 360 that Infamous was exclusive to? Would these same Xbox guys still think the game played similar? Likely not. Killzone is another example. I think the game gets a ton of praise and hype just because it's the "Halo killer".

But this is the logic of only the most loyal of company enthusiasts. Not the typical way of thinking imho.

This is similar to how I view it as well.  I remember when InFamous and Prototype came out. People was hyping the hell out of prototype as MSFT's answer for InFamous.  Sony fans hated prototype and MSFT fans loved it and hated InFamous.  People argueing which one was better etc.  I played prototype and hated it lol

And it would be interesting with the TitanFall thing.  I think a lot of the hype for exclusives boils down to fanwars more than anything.  They just get brought up more because it is a reason their preferred console is better than the other.
