Again, more developers talking good about the "cloud" and how it'll make games better. And still no developers discrediting it.

So can people finally stop making jokes and claims about it doing nothing of note?

Once I hear it from a third party developer that isn't making an xbox exclusive game.

But those would be the ones taking the most advantage of it.  Why such a extreme caveat?  Neither Respawn, Turn 10 nor Insomniac have made ridiculous claims, but it's still not good enough?

I remember a time when gamers used to be excited about the potential uses of new technology.  I just don't get this ...

Gamers too often burned by over-promise and under-deliver? Video gamingis repleat with examplesof shiny new tech that hsn't delivered the goods. Even the relatively successfull and wildly succesful things haven't quite stacked up: Wiimote and Kinect as the prime examples. Mouse and keyboard, and bog standard controller have stood the test of time and seen of all of the competition as the primary input for gaming.

I like that gamers are approaching the cloud with a healthy skepticism. That way we're more likely to be pleasently surprised, or at worst simply ambivalent. But there's no way people are going to wind up disappointed even if the cloud ends up failing to deliver on the PR hype.
