That's definitely possible, but it's not the omg unified memory.

I know, but do you *need* unified GDDR5 memory on low-end hardware such as that? The performance benefits would be minimal at best and the costs would be high.

Agree. I'll wait for AMD to devise its next low-cost solutions based on APUs, and if the top-end of them will use GDDR5 and DDR4, so much the better. BTW my current PC, that I assembled around 2009, uses exactly an Asus MoBo, with AMD790GX chipset and HD3300 onboard graphics with 128MB DDR3 (main RAM is DDR2) Sideport RAM and I'm satisfied of what it gave for its price, I guess for my next PC I could be even more satisfied of a similar solution, with GDDR5 Sideport RAM and DDR3, or better DDR4 main RAM and what's better than in 2009, I'd also be able to choose the GPU, being included in the APU. Then, adding a discrete graphics card later, I could dedicate the APU's GPU to Physics acceleration and possible other tasks for which there will be available drivers and libraries.
As I wrote in other threads, I'm quite optimistic about expecting APUs to bring many benefits to low-end PCs, and their adoption in two consoles will help driving costs down faster.
