Next year will be too late. I would expect that most publishers will be allocating budgets for the next fiscal year early in 2014. If Nintendo waits to do a price cut, and if sales continue at their current levels, I think most publishers will pass on development for the WiiU.

If Nintendo gets a surge in sales due to a price cut, then it is quite possible for them to have up to 10 million units sold worldwide. That would be a very hard number to ignore.

I agree with what a lot of you said that Nintendo can take the risk of getting increases in sales through their upcoming games releases, but if these don't deliver, then they will have an uphill battle against the XB1 and PS4.

I don't think that Nintendo will take this risk. I think they will do at a minimum a $50 price cut. If they keep their entry level console around, then they will have a very attractive $249 console to compete against Sony and Microsoft.
