This isn't your average gamer that they're portraying in that picture. Woman and men in my workplace who are 60(ish) play social games like Farmville, my Gran plays Solitaire on Windows, so the age is being pushed right up.
Excluding casual/throwaway/social gaming, I bet your the average age of a console/traditional PC gamer is only 23-27. Mainly males aged 7-43.
