Optimization has gone a long way already and the manufacturing processes don't shrink as quickly nowadays, so we're stuck for longer with the same architecture. Nvidia is doing the same, but they're naming their refreshes as different series.
If you want to see something really new than wait for TSMC to reach reasonable yields with their new 20nm process. Hopefully they manage to do it next year already.
