And what about gays? Do they actually love women as well, and are simply too shortsighted to realize they're going out with the wrong gender? ;)

He obviously did, but when those buddies are children, It's still called pedophilia.
Sounds like you have a very negative opinion on pedophiles, and therefor cannot accept that your idol really was one as well, desperately trying to come up with reasons why he wasn't a common pedophile but some very special case.
Just accept it: He really was a pedophile mainly interested in young boys. It's very well possible that the reason for this lies in unresolved childhood issues or whatever, but if so, then the same probably applies to most pedophiles.
Accepting this does not make his music better or worse, you can still consider him the greatest artist if you like.
