The fact here is that the x360 and the supporting Microsoft Corp is in a very comfortable no. 3 or last position as some of you put it. Reality is that the 360 is the most profitable at the moment especially with Xbox live revenues. Additionally the cash position of Microsoft is infinitely stronger than that of Sony and if it did begin to feel any sort of pressure from the Ps4 it can easily step up the pace with aggressive marketing and discounts, something that Microsoft had not felt the need to really do owing to the Financial viability of the Xbox 360 and live. And Therefore it is happy to take the no. 3 position as some of the Sony folk so happily remark. One other thing the whole business around internet and Kinect security scare that is being drummed up (in part due to the NSA news recently) is a storm in a tea cup and in the long run will not be a significant deterrence to potential buyers of the console - this truly is wishful thinking on the part of some die hard fans. In summary Sony are still in deep trouble financially and Microsoft could devour its competition several times over due to its huge, cash savings - an enviable position for both Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft can take a massive hit to at least be on par with the no. 1 console seller, whoever that may be. You guys should think about it more carefully in future so as to avoid the embarrassment of being grossly incorrect with your prediction come 5 years or so from now. I'm not making any definitive predictions here but to boldly predict absolute failure in the face of so many compelling reasons to argue otherwise is wishful thinking and blind fanboyism |
