If all the wars, starvation, and greed have no bearing on God's goodness then God is ultimately useless. Most people probably rationalize that they go to hell so the religious mind can feel better about itself for only fulfilling the role in their head's of what makes a good person. It's the perfect worker mindset. People will be satisfied because they think some sort of extra infinite life in some magic paradise is actually real. This is what helps the circular and outright idiotic "God helps those who helps themselves" arguments. Despite the fact that it's self-contradictory, people are led to believe that helping yourself is God giving them strength.
The whole point of the religious mindset is to make you feel better because you're going to happyland after your violent death from either murder or cancer and then the 'evil' people making millions off you and others like you are going to 'hell' to 'suffer' because God is apparently fair, and just, and kind. Despite the fact, your day-to-day life is not and there is some child being violently murdered somewhere around the world. Perhaps even in your country, State, or neighborhood, but you can just ignore that. The bad people are getting punished and the violently murdered child is going to heaven where everything is right because you believe it's right. Go pray or go to church on sundays to remind yourself of how good, and happy, and wonderful of a person you are and how you need to keep your spirits up. Don't worry about that innocent child who was killed by a gunman, he's in heaven now.
You're just self-deluded. To allow your sex life to be determined by this pathetic concept is even more stupid. No, I'm not advocating being a whore. Let's not turn this into ad hominems where we use the other extreme as a comparison to make ourselves feel superior. No, what I'm saying is, you've already given up on having free choices.
