mea maxima culpa.... it wasn't google play it was apple appstore.... and it was about a year ago (the data, not the article)

anyway my point being a big store field with lots of crapy apps self-published might not be the best place to make money..... it's like with brick and mortar shops.... yeah you might have a cheaper spot at the local black market where you can put whatever you want and there is a lot of passage due to the amount of sellers.... but will it be more efficient for your type of goods than being in a fancy 1st class mall if your product deserves that placement....
(it's very summarized but that's pretty much how I feel about it)
but we'll see....
anyway I'm more interested by actual games on console than indie.... I play indie mostly on PC or smartphone..... that might be why I don't understand the dev position... here they have a solution to publish on all 3 platform and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.... I'm sure they have more potential customer on PC and smartphone.... but hey if they are stubborn and want to do console only... it's their choice after all they are devs not economist
