I completely agree with you.
I had the same problem not too long ago.
But after a while I realized that if I want to be able to buy things I care about, like videogames, albums, movies and stuff like that, I just need some damn money.
So, I was (and still am) saying to myself: I'm not doing this shit just because that dude told me to do it, I'm doing it so that I can keep playing awesome videogames, listening to great music (yes, I am actually one of those crazy people who still BUY music albums), or go to the concert of my favourite band and so on.
