I wanted to say I'd never played a Final Fantasy either, or a Metal Gear... but then I remembered I have Mystic Quest for the SNES, which is a Final Fantasy spin-off game. I played that for like half an hour total, so technically I did in fact play a Final Fantasy game at one point.
