I remember signing a waiver form to be able to get a job at Party Pig (which eventually became Party City once it was bought out) that I waive my right to workers comp if I got injured on the job. One would think this would be illegal but in order to start working you had to sign the waiver. I only worked there for about a month before getting a manufacturing job but I did fall off the ladder one time. Luckily it was only a step or two up but it still kind of hurt and almost knocked the wind out of me. I remember just going down the aisle trying to walk it off while cussing. Anyways, there are tons of shady business practices and this was just an example of one of them. Business are willing to cut corners and do many harmful things all in the name of profit. I just shake my head whenever I hear someone trying to advocate deregulation. Businesses need to be regulated. Especially the mother fucking USA banks and investment firms.
