I think I've actually read this whole thing before, a while back...
Even then it took all my modly power for my post to be nothing but this....
It's really better to link the article... both because it's easier to read on a site with better formatting meant for big posts, and so the author gets revenue. (Generally authors are paid by hits).
People always overestimate stuff like this. The unity behind 9/11 was always going to be short lived, unity over crisis always is.
Eventually Republicans act like Republicans or Democrats, democrats etc.
Chances are Democrats would of just turned on the Afganistan War before Obama got in office. (GFC is enough to fuck up McCain).
