Gotta say I disagree which should be obvious by my avatar hehe. But in all seriousness I think that they tried to innovate and the junction system was a daring step to take. While it was a bit daunting at first I got the hang of it and then the game became really fun.
As far as the storyline goes it could have been a bit better although it wasn't that bad either. All in all though when considering gameplay, sound and graphics it was a top game for its time. I'd give it a 9/10
edit - Also was my first final fantasy so I guess I have a bit more of fondness because of that
