For me, I would have to say Dragon Age: Origins. I played it when it first came out, and while I was able to finish it, I didn't really enjoy it as much as others did. When the second game came out, I kept an open mind and played it, despite not really liking the first game, and strangely, I really liked the sequel (which probably seems weird because the sequel got a lot of hate from fans of the first game).
I liked the sequel so much that I forced myself to replay DA:O, and eventually I was able to develop a better appreciation for it.
