In regards, there ARE some system sellers coming out this year in addition to beta's that will be hitting. What about Ratchet and Clank: ToD, some are very serious about this series, one of my coworkers will be picking up a PS3 the day this comes out. Another one is waiting for Drakes Fortune. Also Heavenly Sword may very well end up being a mega hit along with Lair.
Tell you what, I'll go ahead and enter the argument against the last ones for you.... They're new IP's, well even Super Mario Bros was once and it distributed 40 mil copies, so there.
Another thing that many seem to forget in the US(or EU for that matter) is what drives systems in Japan. I think the new Gundam Warriors(or Dynasty Warriors: Gundam) that will be out in the fall will end up being pretty big over there. Not to mention Folklore has been getting alot of buzz around it.
Even all games that are going multi-plat will STILL sell PS3's, it's just stupid to say that ALL people that are waiting to get a PS3 when (insert GTA:IV, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry, etc) to come out before they take the plunge will wander aimlessly into the store and let some pimple faced teenager talk them into the 3 red rings of death console that they've been reading about. Sure a few will, but not the majority.
PS still has brand name recogniztion that when a select minority seem to bash loudly enough it just seems like a lot. It's what happens on the internet.
BTW, my brother is getting one when Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out(I don't even know if it's planned), so maybe that will be another one? Who knows, it's all speculation anyways ;)
