Well I'll spend a few minutes to reply to some of your points now that nobody else did for some reason...

*Crono was just as dumb as Serge (disliked both for the lack of personality, I was never into that approach in which the player is supposed to embody the hero. It never worked for me.) But many people do like that, idk I guess they feel more involved in the game or something.

*Chrono Trigger is much more character focused than Chrono Cross due to the limited number (6-7 in CT compared to 45 for CC). The huge roster of characters inevitably weakens the story but it makes for a better and more varied gameplay and sidequest secrets. Harle, Kid, and Lynx were the only characters that were given enough focus in the game with the rest having script generators throughout most of the game, sadly. But it's understandable. Each character were still given their great moments in some parts throughout the game.

*Kid was brainwashed, programmed or something when she accompanied Dark Serge. I don't remember exactly but there was an explanation.

*Karsh didn't ask Serge to come with them so politely. You may want to play the game again. He changed his tone only when Kid jumped in to help. (if you bring Poshul in the party they'd get her kicked off the cliff! not so polite is it? XD)

*What you wrote about Kid and Riddel was pretty hilarious. It gives the impression that you're trying really really hard. Riddel was already feeling her father and his regime were getting corrupt and Kid whispered to her that she meant no harm and was forced to use her to make her escape and survive. Riddel is portrayed as a thoughtful lady, not the whiny bitch which you want her to be LOL.

Dimensions/Time-Shifting stories will never work perfectly, you can always come up with new questions and there would be quite a few unsolved puzzles, some of these puzzles are intentionally made by the writer to make you ponder, or to be solved later in a sequel. Others are pure accidents. Chrono Trigger had its own issues, Terminator had its issues. And Final Fantasy 8 is not worlds different either..

So the story is far from perfect, it has its flaws and plot-holes but it should be pretty expected. Though I think Chrono Cross' story tends to be much more complex than it should be. To improve your understanding you'll have to play it, AND Chrono Trigger multiple times. Yet some questions will remain unanswered, and more questions may arise.

These points are absolutely stupid. Crono wasn't an idiot. He was presented as a good kid and he fulfilled that role. Serge is presented as someone who can give dynamic responses and guess what? He fails because all he can give is "...".

Karsh is the police. It doesn't matter. You're suppose to follow the instructions of authority figures. Serge was in an area that was off-limits regardless. The police have every right to take down a wild animal that they suspect may attack them.

No, they were given no great moments. Just suspension of disbelief and plot stupidity.

No, the explanation was that Kid 'forgot'. Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about due to not remembering very well.

Play Radiant Historia. No issues.

That's not complex, good sir. That's a godawful and stupid plot. It's pseudo-intellectual but it sure as hell isn't complex or interesting. Xenogears, FF9, and Drakenguard had complex plots. They had an underlying theme, of course (like any good game) but they were complex.

By contrast, most of Chrono Cross is left in the dark and even worse, you're given a wall of text instead of being shown the explanations. It's completely awful. The worst game ever in all of human history.
