Since it seems like you have little choice but to fight then my only advice to winning the fight is to not back down. If he is hitting you really hard in the face just hit him harder in the face. One of you will eventually give up and that person should be him for starting the fight. While he is fighting you, if he detects even for a moment that you are fighting to kill ( but you would not be) then he will give up.
