Once again I would never ever bestow such a decision on my daughter. If she says no -> That would make her feel like she's dooming humanity and she will feel responsible for the rest of her life.
She already kinda knows this, hence why she says at the end => Then Joel goes like
So in a way, I feel her sub contious (spelling check?) is aware of the lie and wants to see if Joel is really going all the way. But another part of her chooses to believe Joel in order to cope with it all. Joel swears in order to remove any guilt she will ever feel. That is the sign of a true caring person. And that is exactly what I would do to someone I truly love even though it might and probably would eat away at me for years to come.

Hello thread revival. Finished this game a couple of hours ago and decided to give my 2 sence at this particular post. First of this is in fact the best game I have ever played. Second, we really don't know whether Ellie was actually given a choice at the firefly compound before the surgery and she knew the whole time the Joel broke her out of there. Third side note, I would love to see DLC of Ish and his compound since its an amazing setting and their story seemed to keep going out of the compound with an unknown end.
