I'm about to get into my first real fight. UPDATE: he came to my house and surprised me.

I would never sugjest you into entering a fight, but if you have no choice and that guy does'nt give you any choice here are my advices.

Keep your hands up and ready to block and to quickly throw punchs.
Do not get cought into ''hugging'' or trying to tear eachother's cloths. Every amateurs eventualy fall into doing that, it's embarassing and not usefull. Keep your hands up stance.
Keep your distance. It's hard to explain to you how to act w/o showing you, but with your hands up, keep a distance and it should'nt be hard for you to block or deflect, after a block right away charge in for a counter.

Edit: And look for opening, most ppl don't know how to keep a guard up, look out for a unguarded spot and trow a quick straight punch, do not throw punchs randomly w/o having a clear idea on where you want to hit, doing so you are just making yourself vulnerable and wasting energy.
