I got Nokia Lumia 920 recently. Pretty happy with it. I used Android (Galaxy S2) and Iphone 3G before this one in the last 5 years. I had more apps downloaded on both of those but i rarely used any. I didn't have problem with either in any way. Same applies here.

I mainly use my phone for calling, messaging, email, browsing web (shortly), maps in emergency (offline maps are great) and RSS reader feeds. Well and music and camera too. So i really don't feel the need for things like Instagram and thousands of other apps which are a big deal to people who talk about phones on the internet.

The OS still needs work with adding notification bar, multi tasking and some other quirks available on android which were recently added to ios.

Hold down back button. Hello multitasking.

Also Live Tiles negates notification bar.

Yea i know about the back button. Should have clarified more by saying ability to close apps easily by swiping or click some close button on them. At the moment all i know is we have to keep on pressing "back" button till it closes. I hear they are fixing this is in 8.1 update.

The multitasking is working differently on WP8. The program remains dormant and uses no memory when its not the app you have up. Its different to Android and IOS in this way. Closing them doesnt affect the performance.

So having them open isnt killing performance on WP8. Its a wierd new way of doing it.
